Veronica Carrier
Veronica Carrier serves as Peer Navigator at New Hour LI. Veronica began her journey with New Hour as an active member of New Hour after returning home from Albion Corr. Facility in 2017. As a person in long term recovery from substance use as well as a formerly incarcerated individual Veronica knows the importance of providing immediate support and resources to women coming from incarcerating and reentering society.
Veronica's role with New Hour is to aid women by assisting them in overcoming the unique barriers they face such as bridging the gaps to treatment and providing resources to not only help with reentry, but also in maintaining long term recovery from substance use disorder. Veronica has previously worked as a Case Manager for several agencies on LI, most recently as part of the Mobile Recovery Unit at CN Guidance and Counseling Service, where she provided substance treatment and mental health services to those in underserved communities in Nassau County.
Veronica holds a bachelor's degree in history and secondary education from Dowling College and is pursuing her Masters Degree in Social Work at Adelphi University. Veronica is the mother of two beautiful girls and enjoys spending as much time with her family as possible.
