Bria Agard

Bria Agard

My name is Bria Agard and I have been working with New Hour since the Summer ‘22.

My educational background includes Bachelors Degree in Sociology from the University of Albany, and a Masters Degree in Human Rights. I started my career with New Hour as a Summer Intern, and then to be hired full-time as the Outreach and Reentry Specialist. In this work, I’ve maintained community engagement of our membership through outreach efforts, while conducting supportive reentry programming in our Nassau and Suffolk County jail facilities.

In addition to offering support to our community members through their reentry journeys, I've had the opportunity to oversee the collaboration with Adelphi University through the 'Empowerment through Employment' program, which offers New Hour members a full-expense paid scholarship to earn an Allied Health Certification in an area of their interest, along with externship opportunities to lead to long-term and meaningful career paths in the health industry.

After four years with the agency, I have now evolved inside the agency as an Administrative and Operations Manager. In this role, I’m looking forward to continuing to offer support to our membership through a different lense!

A few things about me: I'm born-and-raised Long Island, I'm a March Aries, my favorite food cuisine is Thai, I love to exercise and go on hikes, and my favorite cartoon is SpongeBob SquarePants!
