Christian Colón
Christian Colón serves as Communications Associate for New Hour for Women and Children. He manages the organization's social media platforms and develops engaging content that advances New Hour's mission, raises public awareness, and supports fundraising and community
outreach efforts. His work includes drafting newsletters, email campaigns, press releases, and media advisories while collaborating with staff to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communications. Christian also helps amplify the voices and experiences of directly impacted women and families through storytelling and participates in advocacy campaigns,
rallies, and community events. Christian earned his bachelor's degree in media arts from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. Prior to joining New Hour, he served as Lead Communications Coordinator for the Deputy Speaker of the New York State Assembly and as a Legislative Aide for Suffolk County Legislator Samuel Gonzalez. He also worked in nonprofit communications at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County, where he developed public awareness campaigns an community focused messaging. With a background in communications, social media management, photography, and videography, Christian is passionate about using digital storytelling to expand New Hour outreach and ensure more individuals and families are aware of the organization's programs and
resources. He believes authentic storytelling can bring greater awareness to the challenges faced by women and families impacted by incarceration while inspiring meaningful community engagement and support. Outside of work, Christian does freelance photography and enjoys watching movies and playing video games.
