Mary Ellen Mendelsohn
Mary Ellen Mendelsohn served as district director/chief of staff for U.S. Congresswoman Carolyn McCathy for 18 years. She managed the congressional staff, acting as chief spokesperson and advisor, and working on Carolyn’s signature issues of gun violence and education. Mary Ellen also supported Carolyn’s re-elections as campaign manager and finance director. She has worked for the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, the Suffolk County Legislature, and the Chapin Foundation, and served as district director for former U.S. Congressman Robert Mrazek. She has served also on the board of Long Island Blood Services and was a trustee in her village.
