New Hour Ambassador Award - Frances Belzer-Reid

Frances Belzer-Reid began her career in the apparel industry for 17 years both as a department store buyer and in merchandising and design for The Jones Apparel Group.
Frances had the honor of becoming the first Chief Sustainability Officer for The Town of North Hempstead. She was able to launch The first Pharmaceutical Collection Event in Nassau County which received the US EPA Environmental Quality Award and the first Residential & School Composting & Rain Barrel Programs on Long Island.
She is a longtime community activist and one of the proud founders of the grassroots organization Reach Out America. She has been proud to partner with elected officials and NFP’s on many issues such as Sensible Gun Control, Veteran’s Affairs, Voting Machines and the Climate Crisis.
Frances is passionate about support for people impacted by the justice system. She has been a volunteer at New Hour since 2015 and a board member since 2022.
She was born and raised in Brooklyn and has been a Long Island resident for her entire adult life.
